  • Sep.1938 Founded as "Fujikura Kagaku Mfg. Co., Ltd." independently from "Fujikura Mfg. Co., Ltd. (present The FUJIKURA COMPOSITES inc.)" mainly manufacturing windshield and coatings for airplane.
  • Sep.1957 Put on the market electroconductives "DOTITE" developed by the joint research with the Electrical Communication Laboratory of Nippon Telephone and Telegraph Corporation.
  • Dec.1958 Changed name to "Fujikura Kasei Co., Ltd".
  • Aug.1962 Listed stocks on 2nd Dept. of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
  • Jan.1971 Built and started manufacturing at Sano Plant.
  • Feb.1972 Introduced technology on coatings for plastics from "Red Spot Paint & Varnish Co., Inc." U.S.A.
  • May.1973 Introduced technology on waterbased elastic paint from Plastalloy Inc.
  • Jun.1981 Granted license on coatings for sputtering Farkas Engineering, France.
  • Nov.1981 Organized Laboratory of Coating technology at Sano Plant.
  • Jan.1984 Granted license on technology on coatings for plastics to Korea Chemical Co., Ltd.
  • July.1985 Founded a joint venture "Polytribo Inc." with Rohm and Haas Company in Philadelphia.
  • Apr.1987 Introduced suede like finish coating technology from "Red Spot Paint & Varnish Co., Inc."
  • Nov.1987 Introduced soft feeling paint technology from Karl Worwag, Lack-und Farbenfabrik.
  • Jun.1995 Built second Sano plant to scale up production of conductive materials.
  • July.1995 Opened Singapore liaison office.
  • May.1996 Established "Fujikura Kasei (Singapore) Pte Ltd." in Singapore.
  • Jun.1996 Erected Washimiya R & D Center.
  • Jun.1997 Opened Bangkok liaison office.
  • Feb.1999 Certified to ISO-9001.
  • Apr.2000 Entered into Core Agreement with "Red Spot Paint & Varnish Co., Inc." in the U.S. and "Sonneborn & Rieck Ltd." in the U.K. to form three-way global alliance in the field of coatings for plastics technology and market.

  • May.2008 Aquisition of "Red Spot Paint & Varnish Co.,Inc."
  • Apr.2009 Acquisition of Medical materials business unit. Established Tsukuba Bio R&D Center.
  • Nov.2009 Established "Shanghai Fujikura Kasei Coating Co., Ltd." in China.
  • Oct.2010 Acquisition of "Sonneborn & Rieck Ltd." in the U.K. The company name of "Sonneborn & Rieck Ltd." was changed to "Fujichem Sonneborn Ltd." in Nov. 2010.
  • Nov.2010 Established "Fujikura Kasei Coating India Private Ltd." in India.
  • Oct.2011 Closed "Fujikura Kasei (Singapore) Pte Ltd."
  • Apr.2012 Consolidated Tsukuba Bio R&D Center into Washimiya R&D Center.
  • Oct.2013 Acquired additional shares from previous joint venture partner for Indonesia and changed the company name to "PT. Fujikura Kasei Indonesia".
  • Nov.2013 Established "Fujikura Kasei Malaysia Sdn. Bhd." in Malaysia.
  • Jan.2014 Established "Fujikura Kasei Vietnam Co., Ltd." in Vietnam.
  • Mar.2017 "Fujikura Kasei (Thailand) Co., Ltd." moved its office and factory to Samutprakarn.
  • Sep.2018 "Fujikura Kasei Coating India Private Ltd." built new factory.
  • Jun.2019 Change to a Company with an Audit & Supervisory Committee.
